(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man was arrested and charged in connection to stolen property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Jonathan Dewayne Kirk, 37, of Gadsden, was arrested on July 30 and is charged with one count of third degree burglary, one count of first degree theft of property, both are felonies,” says Investigator Fred Lasseter. “Kirk is also charged with one count of third degree theft by deception which is a misdemeanor.”
Kirk allegedly broke into a residence on Yancey Drive, in the Alfords Bend community. He stole a riding lawn mower, chain saw, a hedge trimmer and utility trailer.
He attempted to hide the utility trailer at his residence in Gadsden and sold several items at a local pawn shop.
All of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
Kirk is currently detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $8,500 bond.
